Thailand continues to offer opportunities across many sectors for Canadian exporters, given its strategic location in the heart of Southeast Asia, business-friendly policies and developed infrastructure. Although the current political landscape is uncertain, Thailand consistently ranks well in global competitiveness and ease of doing business rankings. Efforts to further develop infrastructure, including the Eastern Economic Corridor, and policies to boost next generation sectors, should help Thailand maintain its standings. Extra vigilance is needed in certain sectors, paying special attention to political risks and conducting deeper due diligence on local partnerships.
